ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department offers fire alarm tools for Fairfax County residents who are deaf/hard of hearing. The alarm will produce an increased audible alert and emit a strobe light when it is activated. There are other types of alarms available for sleeping areas. The alarms will vibrate to awake and alert the individual when the smoke alarm is activated. The alarms can be accessed by contacting Northern Virginia Resource Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
